“I had the opportunity to spend 5 weeks on placement at Construct Health Physiotherapy in Emerald where I received exposure to a range of different sports injuries, NDIS and Work Cover clients, and pre-employment functional assessments. Over the duration of my placement, I also had the opportunity to learn more about the local community and get involved in many different ways. I regularly participated in Park Run, attended Ag Grow and healthcare networking events, and assisted with strapping and first aid for the Emerald Rams Rugby Union Club. Emerald is a fantastic place to complete a student placement and has opened my eyes to the vast opportunities available in rural Australia”

I was from a defense family so moved around a lot. We settled in an isolated area where I was homeschooled.

During uni I stayed close to Townsville then my family moved to Emerald. That experience really encouraged me to want to make a difference in people's lives in a place like Emerald.
